We have recently been pleased to receive a report on the work of The Leprosy Mission in Odisha, supported by the Order's 2025 World Leprosy Day appeal.
TLM Stewardship Manager Jonathan Whitesman writes:
'As you will see, you have made such a difference to the lives of people affected by leprosy in Odisha. Thanks to you, case detection work has been carried out to find and treat new cases, and awareness raising has been carried out so that people know when to come forward for treatment. People have also received desperately needed ulcer care, protective footwear and training in self-care to protect them from amputation.
With your help, living conditions and nutrition in the colonies are also greatly improving. Houses, toilets and wells have been built/repaired and people have received seeds and livestock so that they can produce their own food and generate an income. Advocacy has also been carried out to increase the rights of people living in the colonies. Thank you for making this possible!'
