We are pleased to share the link to the Summer 2026 Lepra News ...https://www.lepra.org.uk/news
This issue of Lepra News focuses on how a diagnosis and living with leprosy and neglected diseases can affect mental health. ‘Mind to Heart’ counsellor, Khadiza Tul Kobra, talks about her role in Bangladesh. Her tips on how to maintain positive mental health are relevant to everyone and practiced by our staff as well as patients. Morjina’s real-life story describes how family counselling from the Lepra team helped her overcome the physical and emotional impact of her leprosy diagnosis and led to her husband being more understanding of the disease.
Angela Stafford, Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser at LEPRA tells us:
Thanks to our supporters last year, we reached 1,169,688 people in India and Bangladesh with health education and awareness campaigns, helped detect over 5,000 new cases of leprosy and trained 1,798 community volunteers to provide emotional health support for people coming to terms with their diagnosis.
