Champa Vocational Training Centre - update report

The St Lazarus Charitable Trust has been pleased to support the work of TLM (The Leprosy Mission) at the Champa Vocational Training Centre in the state of Chhattisgarh, India.  We recently received a new report from the Centre, which illustrates the valuable work being undertaken there.

Jonathan Whitesman, Trusts and Foundations Advisor at TLM writes:

The VTC enables young people affected by leprosy and disability to be trained in a trade free of charge so that they can get a job and become independent. This will also be achieved through the VTC’s engagement of employers, as this will reduce discrimination towards people affected by leprosy and secure interview opportunities for those approaching graduation. This is so important given the stigma surrounding the disease and the impact of this on access to training and job opportunities.
